The Cozy Nest Story
At the Cozy Nest, we have a passion for interior design, organizing and celebrating life to its fullest.
We are professional, hard working and creative. We love rearranging furniture, shopping for accessories, and creating gallery walls of family photos. We believe in the power of wall paper and the unexpected beauty of a painted ceiling.
Home Staging is in some ways opposite from Interior Design. A well staged home allows the house to shine rather than the furniture or accessories. It’s important to include updated furnishings & lighting in staged homes, but they should not detract from the house itself. Small changes can make a big impact. Swapping out dinky pendants over an island for more current and larger scale lights can really brighten up a boring kitchen. Or “creating” a mudroom in an otherwise plain entryway with some hooks, a bench, pillows and welcome sign. Simple techniques such as these are what changes the story a house can tell.
Potential buyers should see past furniture placement and accessories and envision themselves living there. They should see the potential of a new space… creating new memories. Every house tells a story. We love to help create that story.
We are so honored that you visited our site and would be proud to help stage your home!
Owner & Home Stager
Amy resides with her family on the South Side of Richmond. She grew up in New Jersey, and graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in English Literature and Psychology. After spending 15 years as a sales executive with an IT company, she took a “break” to raise her twin boys. At 8 years old they keep her as busy as ever.
In her spare time, Amy loves to swim with a masters team, run 1/2 marathons, read novels & entertain friends with new recipes and craft cocktails. She followed her passion for design and founded the Cozy Nest in 2017.
“I moved to Virginia over 10 years ago and have fallen in love with the South, especially the Craftsman Style Architecture, warm weather and relaxed vibe. Richmond is really such a charming city”.
